Bjorum Named Central District Health TOY
NDAHPERD member Barb Bjorum from Valley City has been selected as the Central District Health Teacher of the Year. Barb will receive her award at the
Central District Convention to be held in Rapid City, South Dakota in February. She is now eligible and will be competing for National Health TOY award.
Barb is a veteran teacher in the Valley City School system. Valley City is one of the few schools that requires health education each year grades seven through ten. She is also a certified HIV Prevention trainer for the DPI. Barb has also been involved on the state level as a writer for two curriculums, “HIV EMERGENT READER” and “TEENS HELPING THEMSELVES AND EACH OTHER”.
